  • Columbia student and LionLez student group President, Lizzy George-Griffin, posts a LionLez event hosted at Columbia University’s Schermerhorn Hall, and she explicitly states “Zionists aren’t invited.” See photo.

  • Subsequently, Ms. George-Griffin, sent out a follow up email defending this statement. In this email, she wrote, “white Jewish people are today and always have been the oppressors of all brown people,” “WHEN I SAY THE HOLOCAUST WASN’T SPECIAL, I MEAN THAT,” and “Israelites are the Nazis.” See photo1 and photo2

  • This language may be considered Behavioral Violations (Harassment) of Columbia University’s Policy.  See policy.

  • This may have violated Columbia University’s Code of Conduct, which states “Refrain from behavior that intentionally or recklessly endangers, threatens, or causes physical or emotional harm to any person, or that intentionally or recklessly causes reasonable apprehension of such harm.” See policy

  • Despite this, Columbia reportedly graduated Ms. George-Griffin in December 2023 with a Multicultural Graduation Cord, an honor bestowed by the multicultural affairs group of the undergraduate student life office on graduates who demonstrate ”an outstanding commitment to diversity, social justice and multiculturalism through multicultural affairs, campus leadership, community involvement, academic endeavors, and/or personal dedication.” See, Students Against Antisemitism vs. Columbia University - Lawsuit, p. 41
