  • This may have violated Columbia University’s Event Policy (Safe and Responsible Event), which states “the University has an obligation to ensure that all members of our community can participate in their academic pursuits without fear for their safety.” See policy.  

  • Protesters carried a banner stating “by any means necessary.” See photo.  

  • Protesters chanted “from the river to the sea.” See video.  

  • An individual defaced a kidnapped Israeli poster.  See video.  

  • An individual held a sign stating “Gaza Holocaust/IDF Savages.” See video.

  • A Jewish student’s Magen David necklace was allegedly ripped off by a protester on her way to class. See link.

  • This may have violated Columbia University’s Event Policy (Safe and Responsible Event), which states “the University has an obligation to ensure that all members of our community can participate in their academic pursuits without fear for their safety.” See policy.  

  • This event may have violated Columbia University’s Student Group Event Policy, which states that events must not cause significant disruption and must be requested by the student group 10 days in advance. See policy.  

  • This language may be considered Behavioral Violations (Harassment) of Columbia University’s Policy.  See policy.  

  • This may have violated Columbia University’s Code of Conduct, which states “Refrain from behavior that intentionally or recklessly endangers, threatens, or causes physical or emotional harm to any person, or that intentionally or recklessly causes reasonable apprehension of such harm.” See policy
