  • The War in Gaza: Constructive Campus Conversations, a discussion between Amaney Jamal, dean of the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, and Keren Yarhi-Milo, dean of Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs, took place (flier) in the Low Memorial Library. President Minouche Shafik began the event with opening remarks.

  • This event was by invitation only and not open to the general student body unless nominated. CUIDs were checked at the door.

  • A Jewish student who came early to the event took this video (taken at 2:49. Event was supposed to begin at 3:30pm but participants were urged to arrive early). This student felt too afraid to walk through this crowd to get to the event so found a side entrance. The security guards made it very clear that this protest was not planned or approved and that they didn’t know if they could let anyone in the building. The student eventually got inside the building.

  • The event was delayed because of the protest and an email was sent out to everyone registered for the event: “Due to public safety concerns, please use the entrance to Low Memorial Library opposite St Paul's Chapel instead of the main doors.”

  • Throughout the event the participants heard banging and shouting. Protestors chanted “from the sea to the river.” Screen recordings of videos that were posted on instagram by sjp.columbia (while they were suspended) and others.
