  • This was an unauthorized demonstration which occurred during a university event organized for the holidays. 

  • See video:

  • The event was interrupted by chants “There’s no room for celebration, end Israeli occupation” and “Long live Palestine”. 

  • Protesters were holding signs saying “Joy is canceled”.

  • Sjp.columbia posted about event on instagram.

 

  • This event may have violated Columbia University’s Student Group Event Policy, which states that events must not cause significant disruption and must be requested by the student group 10 days in advance. See policy.  

  • This language may be considered Behavioral Violations (Harassment) of Columbia University’s Policy.  See policy.  

  • This may have violated Columbia University’s Code of Conduct, which states “Refrain from behavior that intentionally or recklessly endangers, threatens, or causes physical or emotional harm to any person, or that intentionally or recklessly causes reasonable apprehension of such harm.” See policy.
