  • There were multiple fliers for this event (screenshot1, screenshot2, screenshot3 + explanation)

  • The ‘march’ included chants such as “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” “Yemen, Yemen, make us proud. Turn another ship around,” “Globalize the intifada,” “Long live the intifada,” “There is only one solution-intifada revolution” (video). They also chanted in Arabic “from the sea to the sea, Palestine is Arab” and “Pelstine, free, free. Zionists go out” (video). They chanted “No peace on stolen land,” “It is right to rebe l- Israel, go to hell”, ''Resistance is justified when people are occupied,” “Settlers settlers go back home. Palestine is ours alone.”(video). Orange armbands can be seen on the organizers’ arms. (video

  • A Columbia professor Joseph Howley spoke “as a Jew” in support of pro-Hamas protesters (video). He indicated that he is the representative of the Columbia, Barnard, and Teacher’s College chapter of faculty and staff for Students for Justice in Palestine, FSJP-CBT (an organization that advocates for getting “IOF off campus”). He is the chair of LitHum (in the core) and therefore there is potential discrimination against numerous students that have to take the core and PhD students who teach the core.

  • A Columbia student speaks about how he was arrested last semester for taking down “Keep Hamas off campus” fliers and how the university imposed sanctions on him including evicting him from housing, suspending him from his classes, and giving him no access to any of the dining halls. He was found “not guilty” by the university 2 months later (video).
