At 10:32:22 an incident report was submitted by a member of Columbia staff regarding an event that took place on March 21, 2024. This report illustrates Columbia’s double standard and antipathy to anything pro-Israel. The submitted description is as follows.
- In hosting a multi-religious delegation from Israel to speak about their experiences on October 7, the administration advised us that we couldn't use University property nor advertise in University media. They negotiated that it would be held in the off-campus Edge Hotel in their underground meeting room. As such, we were only able to host 25 participants although our waiting list was much longer. The group was a delegation hosted by the IAC (Israeli American Council) and was speaking on the main campus at the School of General Studies. However, when the Jewish Cultural Employee Resource Group requested for them to also speak at the Medical Campus we were told by the administration that it could not be held on campus. We were further told NOT to use campus resources to advertise or publicize the event. We held it this morning, March 21, at the Edge Hotel with a standing-room-only crowd of about 25. This location was chosen as an off-campus compromise so the administration could deny affiliation with the event.
