  • A student speaker began her speech with false claims of Israel committing genocide and then attacked Columbia for not addressing the ongoing war in Gaza to her satisfaction. The mic appeared to be intentionally or unintentionally cut off after the first few minutes. While the audience isn’t visible, you can hear others cheering her on and asking for the mic to be restored, which it was. This speaker spoke about divestment, disengaging with Israeli institutions, and amnesty for all students that broke into Hamilton Hall.
