2024-06-26 “No Repression” Picket at Barnard

“No Barnard expulsions or repression! Picket for our comrades” protest at Barnard 117th street gates (folder)

This picket was announced on CUAD’s Instagram in collaboration with bcabolitioncollective, NYCPYM (NYC chapter of the Palestinian youth movement), among others. The caption reads “We demand full amnesty for our Barnard comrades”. The last slide of the post reads “Supporting our comrades in this moment means refusing to be cowered by the transparent fear mongering of the elite class, cowards terrified of the power wielded by collective organizing…”.
Participants picketed while chanting slogans including “Israel bombs-Barnard pays. How many kids did you kill today?” (video). They also chanted “disclose, divest, we will not stop we will not rest” (video).
The writing on the signs the participants were holding included “If we burn, you burn with us” (image), “Barnard a pro-genocide, racist, transphobic, classist cesspool” (video), and “Barnard KKKollege, amnesty now” (video), and “bold, beautiful, bomb droppers” (video).

In CUAD’s Instagram stories, there is a video of red paint that was thrown onto the street and Barnard gates with the words “Barnard college, this blood is on your hands’. They also mock NYPD on their account, calling them pigs, and writing “NYPD, KKK, IOF they’re all the same” (images).
